Customizable Shopify theme

Those in the know, what is the best theme for my buck? I'm using "Radiance," one of Shopify's in house themes during my trial period. I'm looking for these three things: minimalism, responsive (view on cell, tab, or desktop), and highly customizable. Thanks for you responses to come.

The stock themes have always seemed to work well for me but if you want to spend a few dollars, theme forest does have a few responsive themes you can get as well.

I did want to mention tho, I have tended not to use responsive themes on Shopify. While setting up your themes, realize you can have both a main website theme, as well as a mobile optimized theme. Shopify will detect mobile and serve the mobile optimized site. There are several free mobile themes you can attach to your site.

Frankly this is better than a responsive theme since getting through your products is quite a bit easier. Just my two cents.

Interesting. I didn't know this. I was under the assumption that it had to be responsive, through and through. I am able to view my trial theme with my phone, and it is not a responsive theme, I don't believe. I think my browser reads the site as a replica version, and is not provided with a smaller screen, paired down version designed for speeding load time.

  You have to actually install the mobile theme. Go into the themes menu and choose a mobile them and activate it. It will then detect mobile and load the mobile theme.
  
  This means you have to have two themes installed. As long as one is a mobile theme Shopify allows you to have two themes activated.
  
  As an example go to this site Toy Dog Coffee and Tea — Welcomeon both a desk top and mobile phone. You will see there are two different looks because there are two themes installed.
