We are launching a web design agency and would like people to give feedback on the design, layout, and general approach of it.

We really appreciate it!

Have a nice day.

  • You will need to have your contact information above the fold, some of your emotional images to be engaging, and also more content.

Additionally, your meta isn't optimized for search engine CTR.

Here's a thread that will help you out:

I like the site and the overall vibe you guys put out. It feels terribly generic and could use a little more personality. Unfortunately the colors and cute design aesthetics you put in didn't add any personality to the site. Try to put some personality into the design. This isn't meant to be taken as making it artistic or keeping it from looking professional.

Having a nice picture and message from the CEO on the homepage goes a long way! You're a small business, so make it feel like "Hey, we're the really nice internet marketing company you can trust!"

    - Our portfolio could be minimized to just "Portfolio"
    - Our service can be just be "Service"
    - Having 2 different menus for Consultants and Specialists is really confusing. I know it makes sense to you because that's how they're organized to you. But to a customer, both of those groups should be the same. (Like why aren't the consultants specialists? And vice versa?!) Besides, you'll save a menu spot and increase conversions.

I suggest you following improvement ideas for your website:

    1. Add Slideshow banners in the home page
    2. "About Us" Page is missing.
    3. Change the theme of the website
    4. Upload the portfolio and Our clients section.

Well, "Where Pixels Make You Money" is a pretty weak phrase. Most "regular" folks don't know what a pixel is.

And to me, worse is your name. Don't you where you are from but rendition while it has a somewhat benign meaning also has very negative connotations in relation to the war on terrorism. Not everyone will get that, but some will. Don't like it, sorry. Creepy.

Lastly, you offer SEO services, but not a lick of SEO work I can see on your own site.

Oh yeah, and the contact thing. Better not make people work to contact you, or figure out where you are. We're all lazy, don't forget that! Contact info above the fold, below the fold, on the fold ;-)

Thanks for the feedback so far.

Keep in mind we JUST went live so we haven't done SEO yet, thats in the works.

Regarding putting contact info above the fold, does anyone have an idea of how to do that in a way that is still cohesive with the design?

In regards to the name, we've shown it to dozens of "regular" folks and nobody has made a comment about not knowing what a pixel is or has made any reference to terrorism from the word "rendition". In fact most "regular" folks we've shown it to have liked the design and branding.

Unfortunately the colors and cute design aesthetics you put in didn't add any personality to the site. Try to put some personality into the design. This isn't meant to be taken as making it artistic or keeping it from looking professional.
We figured the bio's add a good bit of personality. Also our target market is not online but rather agents going out in their communities and pitching our service to local businesses. The majority of customers we are targeting will be visiting our website after looking at a trifold and already talking to an agent, so there will be inherent personal service. However we dont want to neglect our online image, so thanks for the advice and further ideas are welcome.

Consultants and Specialists will be distinguished as different things to customers, as they will be dealing primarily with their agent only, and the agent will be doing the bulk of communication with the "specialists" . We could divide both categories but still in one page titled "Our Team" or something similar. Do you think that would be better?

Thanks for all the great feedback everyone. Since we will be doing offline marketing within the month these ideas will help us iron down the dirty details. Keep em coming : )

I would make the header text stand out a little bit better. Your slogan line "where pixels make you money" is too thin- but thats just my opinion.
And I have to agree- dont make us work to contact you! I quickly leave sites if I cannot find the contact information. In other words, I shouldnt have to scroll to find your contact info. You could set the contact info via a page- you have room beside portfolio it looks to add another page. You could set it there but customers would have to copy your email address to contact you. With your layout, I am not too sure where to put it, but it shouldnt be at the bottom. Maybe you can make your boxes smaller and add sidebars and put it in there.

What if we have a tab on the top right corner that says "contact us", and when the user clicks it, it drops down into a contact box (in addition to keeping the box in footer). This way there could be an obvious way to contact in both the header and footer. Thanks for the reply.

This may just be me but I'd never contact you because you give no indication of price. You don't have to give exact prices but some indication of what I'm in for would be nice. I got the impression that I couldn't afford your business and I'm middle class America.

Ok everyone, thanks so much for your advice so far. We have made the following changes as a result...

    1) Added "contact" above the fold
    2) Combined "specialists" and "consultants" page into a single "About Us" page
    3) Changed navigation to make shorter (e.g. "Our Service" to just "Service")

*Note that we are also in the process of doing META/SEO work on our site but this hasn't happened just yet.
