I'm putting together my first website and would like some help on how to make it better. Its going to be more of a personal web page my goal to set it up as an opinion article to share view points. To monitize it I was going to use back links and goggle ad sense, although I have no intention of plastering the entire thing with advertising. I've put together the home page so far. My goal is simplicity. I plan on adding a forum and a blog. I've included the address in my signature. Please let me know what you think of the home page and the name. My goal is to have it be the type of place that one would go to each day for a few minutes just to check "let see what he wrote today".

    In a word, it sucks, no just kidding, but it looks choppy, and uneven, and it needs work for sure, definitely needs more congruent organization.

      I agree with jugnu. It would be better to have a hosting account and start a website on your own domain. I would also go with wordpress. So much easier to manage.

      You current site needs an about page to let people know who you are and why they should listen to you. It needs some personalization but I know you have only just started.

      Not quite sure what you mean by having backlinks to monetize it.

      Do you mean you are hoping to get traffic to it by creating backlinks to your site and then make the money from Google ads or are you talking about affiliate links?

    thanks for the suggestion, you guys said pretty much what I was expecting. I've tried wordpress before but lately for some reason it has not been working so I moved to webs.com. I do plan on purchasing a name and hosting, but i'm going to wait until i see how successful i am in bringing in traffic. I was looking at hostgator.com maybe. Over the next couple days i'm going to continue to try to smooth it out so in a few days if you would like check it again and see if it is improving.

    OK, I did another change. Hopefully i'm zero'ing in on a good idea. A completly new site, new idea and I think something that would be more attractive for people to visit and enjoy. Please let me know. Thanks again for all your help.
