Beware Of Wholesalers Selling Counterfeit Products!
Most people, however, will tell me that I'm wrong and will continue on their search for that one wholesaler that everybody overlooked. Instead, they end up finding a scam artist who is selling fakes. This includes fake fragrances, movies, cosmetics, watches and clothing. Most of these products are purchased from China which doesn't give a crap about intellectual property rights. Their only concern is to make a profit.
The easiest way to tell a counterfeit product from a real product is to compare it to the real thing. If possible, ask the supplier if they can send you a sample. Go up to your local department store and purchase the real thing. Compare them side-by-side. If you have a good eye you should notice any differences. There is no such thing as a perfect fake.
Many of the fake movies that I purchased off Ebay looked perfect but didn't have the serial code in the back of the disk. The fake fragrances I purchased were leaking, had bubbles in the glass or just didn't smell right. One of the sellers who sold me a fake bottle of Polo Blue told me that it was probably an "old fragrance". Don't believe them. Brand name fragrances smell better when they get older.
