Affiliate marketing your own eCommerce site

Just curious, has anyone ever tried to affiliate market their own eCommerce website? - I can happily obtain a product feed from our eCommerce website and just wondered if it might be worth using one of my microsites (previously used for affiliate sales) to list our products on. Obviously I wouldn't be paying myself just using the links etc. Wondered if it might be worth trying.

Thanks,
Paul.

I don't get what you're saying. Are you trying to promote affiliate offers? Or do you want to start your own affiliate program? If you're trying to promote affiliate offers I would recommend starting your own Amazon store. Try this service.

I've thought about it, but have never tried it. It's not that different than having your own private network of aged sites with PR to build links back to your own sites.

Malia has it. Basically I have my own eCommerce website selling products. I also have a few websites from the days when I was more into affiliate marketing. I just wondered about taking my product feed from my eCommerce site and pushing it onto some of my old affiliate websites. So basically I would run an affiliate program from my eCommerce site with me as the only member, and obviously there would be no commisions involved. By the sound of it, it probably couldn't hurt.

    Thanks,
    Paul.

I understand your point regarding the back-link benefits. But can't you create an affiliate program and have people sell your products for commissions?

This seems to provide minimal returns at best. If you are going to create an affiliate program then recruit affiliates and get real links.

I wasn't sure whether people took self run affiliate programs seriously and I have used a few official networks and their costs at the moment are a little outside of our league. I haven't done the self affiliate back linking idea as I wasn't sure how the issue of duplicate content would affect our website.

      Thanks,
      Paul.
