Hi guys, I hope I'm posting this in the right section, apologies if not. I'm about to start a niche dating site and have just purchased the domain(s). My question is, what TLD should I use? I've purchased the .com, .org, .net and the .co.uk

My site will be specifically for the UK market - so should I use the .com or the .co.uk?

Would Google.co.uk rank a site higher for the UK market if I were to use the .co.uk extension or should I just use the .com for brand awareness?

Any help clarifying this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Rob.

If the majority of your audience is going to be UK based, then you should go for the .co.uk. Though if it will be an international audience then .com is preferred.

You could then setup a permanent redirect to the domain you choose. Alternatively you could run the .com and .co.uk separately, so you can target different audiences. Though obviously that is more work.

Btw, no I don't think this is the right forum section. Your question has nothing to do with ecommerce.

I would definitely choose the uk domain for a uk market. Alexa Smith lives there and she swears that even using a uk host as well as uk domain improved her traffic and position in serps.

.co.uk is highly recommended. Search engines give country specific domains.
