How Do I Become A Drop Shipper?

I am interested in drop shipping. Where do I start?

Can you recommend me some good drop shipping websites?

Is it a good idea to be a drop shipper? How big is the competition?

Frankly, your best bet is to contact the manufacturer directly and work out a personal deal with them. Choose the products you want to buy, buy one, and then contact the manufacturer. They usually will deal directly with you.

Hey buddy!

Quick tip for you, when you're asking questions, try and go into more detail than you have on this one.

The question you asked here is very general, you're looking somewhere you could become a dropshipper. That's fine, but where are you based? Where do you want to target? Any ideas on what you want to dropship.

I could, like many other Warriors, provide you with list of hundreds and hundreds of different dropshippers but if you want to target America, providing you with UK based dropshippers is going to be of no help to you!

If you are wanting to talk among Warriors that are more likely to have experience in this field, I recommend you check out the section of this Forum that is dedicated to Wholesaling and Dropshipping. Building eCommerce Sites - Wholesale, Drop Shipping

If you ask the question again below but in more detail, it will be much easier to give you with a detailed answer :)

Hope this helps!

If you become a dropshipper, make sure your suppliers are trustworthy and efficient. I tried this a while ago for various items, and although they promised the world, deliveries were really slow and I had unhappy customers.
I prefer affiliate marketing now, as the company handles all customer enquiries, shipping etc, all I do is promote the offer.

I understand now, I have tried this in the past, take a look, I haven't achieved anything with it, but I have read about people earning good amount of money with this system.

Open a Free T-shirt Shop | Spreadshirt

Best regards,

Alex :)

The easiest way to do that is go with Spreadshirt. You can set up your store and easily integrate it into a website with iframe. Won't cost you a dime. The hardest part though, is the design and marketing of the tshirts. Because the barriers to entry are so low everyone and their brother has a tshirt business but if you have a Unique Selling Proposition, go for it.

Is Spreadshirt better than Cafe Press? From what I can recall, Cafe Press charged a lot of money and kept a good chunk of profit that might have gone to the seller, but maybe they changed? And then there's Zazzle, although I don't know if Zazzle is a viable alternative. Maybe someone will come along and provide additional, more detailed info about Cafe Press and Zazzle.

That's sound advice although from what I gather, for someone starting out, finding a manufacturer to drop ship is easier said than done. The info I gleaned is that most manufacturers would never consider setting up a drop shipping arrangement with a new seller just starting out in the biz. I read that the seller first needs to establish a rapport with the manufacturer by selling the item on Amazon, Ebay, etc. And only then, after consistently selling the item through one of those channels, might the manufacturer agree to drop sell units on behalf of the seller. What I learned is that a seller has to have a solid history of selling goods along with a resume' that sparkles in order to entice a manufacturer into entering into a drop shipping partnership.

I haven't had any problems finding wholesalers to dropship products if you can't connect with the manufacturer right away. You just need to pick the products you want to sell and then research wholesalers and competition, pricing, etc.

If you want to get involved in dropshipping, you have to do some research first...or at least that's where I always start.

Type in a search engine something like ""start a dropshipping business" and "dropshipping forums" and use the quotes.

There's tons of information out there.

You want to dropship T-shirts, right? Do some research and see how much the other sellers are selling the same t-shirts for. Then do some research to see how much you can buy them for at wholesale prices. You have to know if you can make money doing this.

Then, like someone else wrote, call the wholesaler and tell them you want to sell their t-shirts as a dropshipper. It doesn't hurt to call them and ask if they will dropship for you. Call more than 1 wholesaler and show how interested and excited you are. Build a relationship with them. They need you. They are looking for sellers like you (some of them).

Many wholesalers don't advertise that they also dropship. Look on their “Become a Dealer” page, “Contact Us” page, “Distributor Agreement” page. If you can't find any information on their site about dropshipping, call them and ask. Don't forget to ask them about their policies and prices.

You'll probably need an ecommerce site where you sell your t-shirts but other people already wrote about that above.

Then, you're going to need to learn how to drive traffic to your site.

It can be done and it can be a really good way to make money and you won't have to buy, ship and stock items or deal with refunds for customers.

Don't worry about the competition. The more the competition, the sweeter the victory!

Well if you want higher profit.Try to research local products that is lucrative overseas. By doing this, you will have the advantage to leverage the law of demand and supply.

Hi, for a beginner in dropshipping you can check out this dedicated Dropshipping guide by Shopify to start you on your way.

Also, Shopify did a blog post on Dropshipping again few days ago. Seems that they're all into dropping. These should help you.

I'd suggest starting out here: Online Shopping at Worldwide Accessories.

Click the "Drop Shipping" link at the bottom of the page and go from there. I had great experience from this supplier!

Good Luck!
