Easy Question - First eCommerce Website

by ZachRobinson 5 replies
Hey guys, just wanna first start out and say, I love you man!
This forum is the best!

I want to first start my eCommerce website. I was thinking for my first time to sell about up to 50 products. So it won't be a lot of products, something to get my feet wet. I know Magento is the way to go, but is it still ok even with low amount of products to sell? Or since its my first time should I do Shopify?

Which Magento? Magento Go? Magento CE?
The themes on themeforest.net are they for Magento Go or CE
or does it really not matter.

BTW I did search a lot of threads in this forum about my question.

Thank you in advance!

Zach

Is this a new business, or is e-commerce opening up a new channel for an existing business?

If you are already an existing business and are building up your revenue stream. Magento CE would be a fine choice.

If you are getting your feet wet in business all together. A hosted / turnkey cart will help you get off the ground: easier, faster, w/ less headache. Good luck!

Yeah it would be brand new for me. Just trying to figure out of I do Magento Go if it will be expensive for me to hire someone to get it up and running.

Or just use Shopify and I can do it myself
