I went with Catalyst. It has a plugin that connects it to the wootheme platform and seems to get plenty of support. Looks sharp and is highly customizeable.

I also bough thre retailtower plugin and paypal advanced plugin from codecanyon to round out the package.

I've only built 1 so far, but have consulted various other successful ecomm site owners and mayashop seems to be a the #1 pick. My experience so far is its seo friendly, responsive and easy to customize. Themeforest has it for $55

    Hi @vanbino !

I always recommend to use a theme that is responsive, in other words it will adjust to the resolution of the visitors screen.

    Just my 2c.

    Cheers!

I use one from StoreFrontThemes.com. You may also want to look at Agency from StudioPress.com.

Check themes at elegantthemes. They have themes which is for an e-commerce website. Membership is not free anyway. But you can download in a whole year.

As a newbie, the easiest approach is to implement WooCommerce and a WooTheme. They integrate well and it's super easy to configure. You don't have to use a WooTheme but it will make life easier for you if you do.

I've had a lot of success using PremiumPress. However, in my opinion the support is lacking in regards to providing clear cut updates. Their latest version includes automatic updating, which helps, but if you were running an older version, a later version of wordpress would have broke your store.

Keep it up to date and it works like a charm, with plenty of templates to choose from, lots of payment gateways, and plenty of widgets. Overrall I've been satisfied.

I cannot say one is better than another. just look at the them and make your own decision.

If you are pretty new to setting up a site I would say go for something from Woo Themes and run WooCommerce (free in the wordpress plugin repository: WordPress › WooCommerce - excelling eCommerce « WordPress Plugins) to accept payments. They are real easy for somebody new to building a site to have up relatively quickly.

If you are looking for something a bit more advanced check out themeforest. They have a ton of themes that support WooCommerce as well, pretty easy to setup if you have an understanding.

WooCommerce | ThemeForest (Again, not an affiliate link)

    Best of luck,
    Dan
