Hello all! I have a question for all that hopefully someone can answer or point me in the right direction. I am setting up a eCommerce store..The suppliers are in the US and only sell and ship in the US..which is fine, I only plan on selling in the US. The problem is that I am Canadian..they require a US bank account, address, and a US state tax ID..in order to set up my account for drop shipping. My question then is can I even get all these things like a US state tax ID? or am I out of luck?? Any help on where I can get these things would be a great help...or pointed in the right direction..Thanks all!

Use a virtual mailbox that will ship to you. For example, usa2me.com. Do a search, and you'll find others.

The other thing I should mention though is that you might want to get advice from a Canadian accountant, as I don't know how the taxes will all work, and you don't want to get into trouble with that. You will have to submit income taxes somewhere.

Contact the IRS they will probably issue an EIN, or TIN which ever, for tax purposes only. You then use that as part of your eCommerce, don't forget to register your business with State or City clerk, because more often all genuine drop shipping companies need copy of a certificate, or this for their books. And to be even on the safer side of things, sign up for a State re-sellers Tax Certificate to remit any State taxes. Once you have either or more than two (recommended), then go ahead and register. You also, need to know that taxes in Canada maybe needed to be reported. You should first contact a tax accountant in your country (Canada) and find out what will be the routine for this.
