Make sense to spice up most viewed product pages according to Google Analytics?

Hi,

I'm getting about 30 visits per day, but no sales coming it. I got about 3 sales last month, but it has been quiet lately.

I just watched Eben Pagan's video about finding out my customers' pain and urgency.

That got me thinking about checking which products are most viewed and then add more content targeting those pain/urgency (on top of existing official desc I copied from manufacturers' website) to improve conversion.

I'm thinking this will probably require quite a bit of time. Will time spent this way be valuable, or I'll be better off finding more manufacturers to add their products to my site?

I'll appreciate any feedback, thanks in advance

Regards,
John

    Can't you do both?

I see no reason why the 2 would be mutually exclusive. However, if your conversions are lower than you think they ought to be then surely resolving such becomes a priority? You could add more products but then you may very well experience the same "low" conversion rate because you haven't solved the underlying problem - a poor sales page.

It's important you test things constantly, if something isn't working the way you believe it should then test a different way of doing things, but perhaps don't view testing as an "either or scenario", it's possible to test different strategies at once.

Are they most viewed because you're getting clicks from Google (or elsewhere), or are they most viewed because customers navigate to those pages once they are on the website. It's important to distinguish between those two types of traffic because the first scenario does not actually mean that customers prefer those products. In any case, if you are getting some traffic but no sales, it doesn't hurt to spice up your site.
