I have been asked if I would sell a few of my products in a few shops in my town. She said "Consider allowing us to sell your products and we can talk about percentages later." I assume she is talking about % paid to her. What is you experience with this? What is common: 3, 5, 10, 20, 30 % I never intended to sell through a ground store, but this does make me curious.

That could be good. Is she offering to sell on consignment or just flat out wants to buy your products to sell at a discount? There isn't really a standard for consignment it's just whatever you and the store owner feel is fair. Some stores have a set percentage they take. Make sure you get that in writing and guarantees on how they will care for and promote your merchandise.

I would agree with Twink, I knew someone who didn't get guarantees once and they simply made it sale or return, their entire stock was stuck in a back shelf room once for 6 months without ever making it into the public eye and the guy had to buy it all back which nearly bankrupted him, and then the store simply got them on the shelves themselves with no competition.

Make sure it is written in the contract that they are put on the shop floor to be sold...

Depending on the industry, 15% to 20% is a common retail mark up.
