To Build Or Not To Build.....

Hi
I'm a newcomer to IM, and whilst I have a pretty detailed overview of the direction I wish to take, I'm definitely lacking in the tech know-how department.
I'm going to initially set up a 'health niche' e-commerce site, selling my own products, but also having the functionality to market other people's product lines too. I have a domain name and a hosting account, but I'm unsure about whether to attempt the construction of the site myself (WP/Woo-commerce etc) OR to outsource the construction of the site.
I can certainly see the advantage of learning the nuts 'n bolts of site building myself, BUT I'm also concerned about the quality of this first site, and also the turnaround time involved in bringing it to the market.
Any thoughts/opinions gratefully received.
Thanks,
Mark

Starting off I would highly suggest you stick with a turn-key cart. They come pre-integrated with a CRM, Inventory Control, Templates, Gateway integration, etc.

I would absolutely not waste any time trying to learn how to construct the site yourself haha

Mark, take SerpKing's advice here and go with a hosted solution. There's a huge difference between being an IT expert and being an ecommerce store owner and there's really no need to try and be both!

      Thanks for your answers.
I think that the turnkey solution is going to be the way to go, whilst the learning process continues in the background.
Any suggestions re a good source for quality e-Commerce sites?
      Thanks,
      Mark

My favorite is BigCommerce. They are PCI compliant, handle the hosting and have great support.

Same goes for corecommerce and shopify. I don't think you can go wrong with any of those 3-carts. I agree with the others, go with a hosted cart and grow your business not try to build your own.

    I'd also look at Volusion

I suggest you build it yourself with WP, it's easy enough and gives you much more functionality over 'ecommerce solutions' where you pay by the month.
If your store is already big, Magento is the way to go.
