New Site Duplicate Content

When starting a new website with a ton of product, how bad would it be to launch the website with duplicate product descriptions given by the manufacture?

Then once the website is at least live, slowly creating new product descriptions.

I've heard...launch as fast as possible, but I've also heard, don't launch until you have SEO'd the website/product pages.

    I suggest creating your OWN unique product description template and then using concatenate (inside of excel or openoffice) to insert unique data into each product's description. That way a good portion of content is duplicate internally, but you aren't duplicate with external websites. Having internal duplicate content is far less of an issue than having content that's identical to external web pages out on the web!
