  • Well, I have a bigger concern for you-

How did you even find 'pet supplies' was even a viable niche? Seems pretty broad....

When you're looking to sell something, you don't want to throw a dart at an idea and hope for the best - you want to research - extensively - the feasibility of that idea.

You want to make sure that 1, it has relatively good demand, 2, it has MANAGEABLE competition (which, looking this up you're competing against some pretty established websites - but it will depend on your keyword) and 3, you'll be wanting to find a keyword that has commercial intention.

What was your research conclusions to even find 'pet supplies'?

In my experience that has been one of the more saturated niches - up there with 'handbags' and 'cell phone cases'.

Once you've done niche research THEN you go find a supplier - not the other way around.

I have my reasons for choosing this niche so its of no concern to me.

I was just simply asking if anyone knew of a good pet supplies dropshipper. I can search google myself and already have some dropshippers ready to go.

GoGo Dropship is a wholesale drop ship directory - there is a fee but they have a number of dropship companies available.

As I said in this post, do NOT pay for a dropship directory membership. Save your money and find the dropship suppliers yourself by following these steps:
        1. Through keyword research or other means, find a niche market you can very likely succeed in. The market should have a high demand (good search volume) and low supply (poor competitors).
        2. Once you select a product line to build your niche store around, identify the top brands within that market by visiting the top 2 or 3 ecommerce stores that are already in that niche.
        3. Find the manufacturer's websites and contact the manufacturers directly. In a round about way, see if the manufacturers dropship.
        4. If the manufacturers won't dropship, ask them for the contact details of the biggest bulk buyers who buy quantity at wholesale from them (aka distributors). Contact the distributors directly and see if they will dropship.
There's a bit more to it than that, but this is a good overview. To help your chances of getting a brand name manufacturer or distributor to dropship for you I recommend...

...having a business entity (or at least DBA).
...having a website that's already in that market, even if it's not built out.

Good luck to you and I hope this is helpful!

I think this niche needs to be more specific, like just bark collars etc. Here are 2 that dropship and carry pretty much everything.
      Petstoresusa
      Essentialpetproducts
      Both are .com

I have a catalogue sitting in front of me for a company called Pet Edge. I thought about starting something up in this niche, but got occupied with other projects. They do dropship, however it's not really promoted on their site so just call them. Margins are extremely competitive as well.

    Best of luck.

Hi I am new and actually joined because I read this particular response on-line.

No, Pet Edge do not drop ship.

One of the reasons they decided not to drop ship is that each package that PetEdge ships, includes an invoice and catalog which cannot be removed.

And they use PetEdge tape on the outside of the box.

So Pet Edge has never participated in drop shipping though I would certainly like them to do so. Also.. the hard catalog products are often different than those on-line, so you have to become familiar with both.

    Thanks. My site is onlinepetstore(dot)com

The biggest issue I am finding is having more than 1 dropshipper on a site because if you have multiple dropshippers and someone places an order that comes from 2 dropshippers, you get screwed on shipping

For my money, you might just as well go buy the stuff at WalMart than o use the services of a drop shipper. Your chance of being able to make a profit using one of the many drop ship companies is slim to none.

No matter who you find, I certainly wouldn't go with anyone from China.

A ton of pet supplies buyers are very conscious of all the harmful crap that's coming out of there, so would try to stick with a US distributor.

Also, US is going to be much better for delivery times, quality assurance, and you don't have to worry about customs delays (unless you are shipping internationally anyways).

Might be worth asking your local Chamber of Commerce for some distributors who have pet supplies as well. I've had some success with this approach (not with pet supplies, another niche).

    Hi

I would prefer to conduct a search via AMZinsight.com and see which are the best sellers on amazon for your product.

    I hope this helps. Thanks

    Regards
