Hey all,

My partner and I have had much success marketing/selling fashion online for clients but now we want to build out our own portfolio. The problem is finding a reliable dropshipper. Yes I know use Google but we have had no luck that route so I thought I'd reach out here on WF.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks WF

I could give you about 500 of them, but none of them are cheap. I only say that because people seem to think you can find someone to dropship clothing for you that costs $3 and then you can turn around and sell the same piece of clothing for $60.

Average I spend on a piece of clothing is $12, and I might sell it for $30. If I buy in bulk in various U.S. sizes, I can get it about 50% off if my total order from that distributor is $400 or more.

Hi Silas, I'd be interested in this list

Also, what's the norm with using a suppliers product pics?

I found a fashion dropshipper, well, I think I did... their site say they dropship, their live chat say they don't, an email says they do, and another email says they don't... they must be getting high over there.

Anyway, assuming they do dropship, I'd need to use their images.

The email that said they do dropship, and would like to have me on board, says, I can't use their images for copyright reasons...

I don't really understand this... how am I supposed to sell their stuff without images? I'm just trying to understand their logic... they want people to dropship, but don't allow use of their pics...

... ok, got back on to the clueless one... turns out she doesn't actually know what dropshipping is...

        HI.
I am ready to give you contacts information of one of the best garments factories. This will allow you to communicate with them and ask all information you want. The prices varies according to what you need.

If you want samples and/or images you will request them directly.
Here they make fashion clothes like St Johns, Mexx ,.. these types of brands.

One last question. What is exactly you want to build as business? An e-shop or e-commerce website or a physical store?

Hope to read from you soon.

The member "bizandyou" that you hope to contact has not posted on WF for well over a year.

Maybe for your sake that is a good thing, He/she was only trying to get a commission by introducing you to one particular business. Unfortunately, when someone posts a request for a recommendation, many of the replies are from people like that.

Fashion is an excellent example of a market sector in which buying from dropshipping wholesalers is just throwing money away. There are so many manufacturers in China and other countries who are willing to supply small quantities that the outlay for your own inventory can be very small.

You will find that it is easy to get them to supply with your own label attached and the profit margins can be mind boggling.

I helped a newbie locate a ladies' fashion item that retails around $25 - $30 and the landed cost including freight for an order of 100 pcs worked out at about $4 each. That was with the manufacturer's label. To add a private label would cost about 30c after a set up cost of around $60.

Another ladies' wear item she wanted usually retails at $15, and the landed cost for an order of 500 would be $1.20. That particular item is often discounted to $10, but still, do the math.

Profits begin with buying, so why buy from someone who is already adding their profit margin to a product that they are buying from the same place where you can?

Dropship suppliers take a huge bite out of your profits. Why work on 10% -20% margin when you can easily make 10 times that margin by buying direct from manufacturers?

There are plenty of clothing manufacturers in China who will supply relatively small quantities at ex factory prices if you take the right approach with them.

Googling or searching on the popular B2B portals will find masses of wholesalers, but why pay more than you have to? Many of the suppliers listed on B2B portals as manufacturers are only resellers, wholesalers, distributors, or dropshippers and they all take their cut out of your profits.

Your profits begin when you buy, so make sure you get the best price. By the way, I don't recommend haggling with Chinese suppliers. That is a big mistake many newbies make. There are better ways to make sure you get the best possible price.

    Hallo.
I guess I may help here.

I have a personal contact in a Garment factory.
Before you do anything or order anything you will get samples even pictures.
How do you want to see if the quality you want is meet? So you will need to get the samples.

    I can arrange that.
Let me know if you are interested.

I'd like to report my experience with a great dropshipment provider. Their website is
.brandsdistribution.com and they mainly sell to wholesalers, but they also have an excellent dropshipment service. I work for a small fashion e-commerce and we use this service a lot.
They have all types of brands, from Prada, to Brooksfield, to Fendi, to Gucci, but they also have "lower" brands, like Diesel, Dr. Scholl, Roccobarocco and Replay, together with some brands of their own.
I actually had the chance to realise
the lower brands are the ones selling the most!
Has anyone ever worked with them?
I know people who wanted to until they checked the real prices that the goods actually sell retail for. They tell me that the RRP quoted by .brandsdistribution.com will be way more than the actual selling prices in retail stores..

Importexport, I understand what you mean when you say that there are factories that can offer good prducts with very affordable prices that can make profit margins higher, and yeah you are completly right... but I'm looking for dropshippers because I would like to sell luxury brands, because they are easy to sell when they are cheaper than their real retail prices ( outlet concept ), and also because I cant buy for the moment alot of stock lots because they are expensive and I dont know if I can sell all of them or not ! an other important point, if I find a good distributor that can offer me good price for these branded items if I buy big quantities, I have to arrange their shipment and pay taxes etc..., but with A DROPSHİPPER , I dont need to deal with all of this, because the products will not come to me, they will go to customer directly, and this is what I need, so for the moment I prefer to win less but learn how it works,

If anyone has sufficient funds to buy pallet loads with a minimum order of 200 items for nearly $3,400 (as required by GlobalMartUSA), they could make a huge amount more by buying direct from the manufacturers in China, and they could spend a lot less money to get started.

Quality dresses can be bought in quite small quantities direct from the manufacturers in China at prices that would make it easy to compete and still make huge profit margins.

I cannot understand the attraction of liquidation buying at prices a lot higher than you would pay for good quality in smaller quantities.

Just a word of warning. You won't find many genuine manufacturers on the popular sourcing sites. Most suppliers on those sites are traders and they won't give you the low prices that real manufacturers will.

As a consumer, I tried buying fashion on ebay a couple times. Huge problem is that asian countries are not marketing to Americans. Their sizing is wayyyyyy off. They say to order a couple sizes bigger and the clothes were still wayyy too small.

Trying to return anything is a joke, so I'll just skip ever ordering again entirely.

If a marketer gets the sizing and presentation right, they'd get many loyal customers. Herein lies the opportunity.

There are some new fantastic cheap technologies using the Wii camera system or similar to get 3D body scanning. Whoever gets that right to perfectly match sizes for people will be a huge winner. Especially right now for custom suits. Someone could have a mobile showroom truck to scan people, have samples of material/colors to order great suits at a very good price, while killing the margins.

It all depends if you want brand or generics, what level of due dilligence you are willing to do - ie. stopping fakes entering the supply chain, and your buying power. The rest goes from there, without you providing that information it is guesswork as they fundamentally change the dynamics of what you are trying to do.

Since I am in a specialty fashion niche, hemp clothing, my advice may not be worth a tinker's damn. How we found reliable drop shippers was through google searches, ebay and amazon. Yep, the good ole big 3. Alibaba, btw, only got us a bunch of people who said one thing on their site and another in their replies to me. I stayed away from them.

Mind you we located a ton of wholesalers. Not all would drop ship and not all were reliable. Once we zeroed in on the ones we liked, we called and we emailed. To date, everyone has called back and we have established relationships with them. As for the drop shipping, they were very true to their word.

One thing with drop shipping. When you engage them, make sure they don't try to steal your customer. In other words, make sure it is your company name via an invoice and any other paperwork that goes out with the order. We tested that by having friends buy from our site. Bingo! all were true to their word like I said.

      Good luck!

If you are asking the member ("bizandyou") they have apparently left the forum because they have not posted for over a year.

If you are asking me, my response is that I don't supply lists.

As a general observation I would say that if you buy a list, or join a wholesale site that provides lists, you are just buying competition.

If someone posts a list for free, you are probably going to get even more competition, because potentially thousands will use that list.

Instead of dropshipping I suggest you consider buying direct from overseas manufacturers. That way you can get much higher profits than dropshippers could dream of.

Hello you all. I just registered for this forum. I am trying to start an online boutique and I'm looking for a drop shipping also. I am running into the same problems as far as not being able to find the quality through Google. I've been to a New York Tradeshow which was amazing but I cannot afford to walk in that lane just yet. I need quality clothing. I want to sell trendy clothing for young women 17-30 if that makes any sense. When I google search drop shipping companyies its very hard to find the quality. If anyone can help me with any resources I would greatly appreciate it. I'm in the process of rebuilding my life doing what I really want to do so feel free to support it ;-) Thanks in advance!

WARNING! These sites may suit resellers in the EU, but importers in other countries should be aware that importing the big brands they carry can be risky.

        • The goods will likely be confiscated.
        • Prosecution with fines and possible imprisonment could follow.
        • The brand owners could sue the importers into bankruptcy.
        • Customs will flag the importers' names and addresses so that every subsequent shipment of any kind of product to them will be delayed for thorough inspection.

Aliexpress has numerous suppliers who will dropship, but Aliexpress is a retail site where you pay retail prices.

Before acting on recommendations to buy through Aliexpress or Alibaba, readers should have a look at the numerous bad reports about them. You could start by checking out the scams on Ripoff Report | alibaba Search of Complaints & Reviews and
Ripoff Report | aliexpress Search of Complaints & Reviews, but there are other genuine review sites that show how risky it is dealing with suppliers on those two sites.

I have taught hundreds of people how to buy small quantities direct from manufacturers in many countries including China. The idea that you have to place big orders is a myth.

So... I HAD to reply to this since your post was on JUNE 26! <-- That's my birthday! AND I myself am currently working with an AMAZZZZZING fashion dropshipper that you can find here Clothing Dropshippers - Automated Inventory Management

They're heavily invested into technology. I mean, they actually built a dropship robot that connects directly to your website and updates your inventory with new arrivals.. automatically.. their dropship robot also removes out of stock inventory from your site.. ..automatically.. and they literally do 80% of the work for you. I vouch for them because I really think they've done an awesome job with their program. Anyways, check them out for yourself. Take care and hope that helps!
