I have a shopify store, is it possible to disable browsing in the store until you opt in?

    Hi,

    I can't answer that directly, sorry, but I've recently run a trial with Shopify and they have great support, and will give you a call, no problem. My advice would be to have them call you and verify first that you're not breaking some Ts and Cs first, and they may even help you with the opt-in.

    During the trial period it would be very challenging to find a site, unless you publicized it. Once you do opt in, you can close shop until you are ready to use it. You can create a special password which will allow vendors and special people granted permission to view your store whenever you choose.

    It sounds like people are telling you how to hide the site till its ready.

    If I am reading you correctly, you want to hide the store front until they opt-in to an email list? In that case there you will have to have some additional javascript installed. Try and do a search for Shopify and liquor sales since some folks have done some script where you have to give your age before you can see the front page.
