Google Checkout payouts DOWN for three days

Just thought I would give the heads up in case any of you are in the same boat as me... My Google Checkout payouts had not been appearing in my bank account for the past three days, and I was starting to worry. I called the bank and they said no deposits were in the pipeline.

So I got on the phone to Google Checkout this morning (I didn't even know they had a support number until now), and they said payouts are currently down, and its affecting all merchants. There is no word on when the issue will be rectified, but they are working to fix it.

In case anyone wants their number, call 1-855-925538-6.

Kind of hard to rely on a payment system that goes down and no clue when it will be fixed.

I've only used them a few times, when a customer absolutely could not use PP. But I remember two orders that completed, then a week later they said the payment was no good. A week later! Seriously? arrghh... reason I don't use them.

Thanks for the heads up. Paypal has been very good. Knock on wood.

True. Paypal gets a lot of criticism (some deservedly so) but it's also the most used/most trusted Internet payment provider for a reason.

PayPal is Great...if you have a backup plan like Google Checkout etc.

IN all fairness to Google, my payouts have always arrived like clockwork (until now). And, unlike PayPal, I don't need to 'withdraw' the funds, as they automatically disburse to my account each day... Come November 20 though, GC is sunsetting, so it doesn't really make any difference in the long term.

Probably a dumb question, but what is sunsetting?

Good to hear some one is happy with them. Just haven't had the best experiences with them myself.

Sunsetting is the slow withdrawal of a product or service in such a way that it allows time for clients to transition to an alternative.
