Hey warriors,

Sorry for the noob question. But is Open Cart a WP plugin? or do you have to get it from there website? I googled open cart and like 10 different eCommerce sites popped up. Not sure which one is the actually one....

Do I have to pay for open cart? Or is it free?

Thanks in advance.

OpenCart is a free eCommerce shopping cart that can be downloaded from OpenCart.com

Some hosting providers provide a easy installation from their cpanel, so if you are not tech savvy you can install it in a couple of minutes and try it out.

I have one store running on OpenCart and I am very happy with it

Definitely, if you have enough programming skills open source shopping carts, like opencart, magento, etc, give unlimited opportunities. On the other hand, there are many people who want to start selling briskly. In this case, I'd suggest to use hosted solutions for ecommerce, such as Shopify, 3DCart, BigCommerce, etc.
Of course, the choice depends on you skills and needs. You may read different reviews and comparisons over the Internet to realize which platform suits best.

      Good luck!

If you're looking for an easy theme, there's a few great ones on Theme Forest for OpenCart. I tested it out but ended up switching to a different cart provider. Good luck with your store!
