Shopify resizing images

According to Shopify, I need to manually change all images to the same aspect ratio in order for them to be shown the same size thumbnails on the product page. If I have thousands of pictures with different aspect ratios, how can I efficiently make them all the same aspect ratio?

I'm in the same boat, sort of. The vendor sent me product images, and all was good. Then, when I went to upload, about 5 of the images were all different sizes. I have not yet gotten to upload everything, but I'm hoping I only have a few to resize. I am going to try it in Lightroom 5--I haven't used this program yet, so I'll let you know how it goes. Shopify, so far, has been very supportive with my little venture. Good luck.

    Hi guys,

This was a tricky area for me as well. You don't have to resize all your pictures, just the first picture in each category. The first picture is the featured image, which is the one used when the product shows up under a category.

You can try batch image resizing, but it can get tricky when certain products differ in the distance away from the camera they were when they were shot. This is why it's generally a good idea to take your own unique and consistent high quality pictures. Plus those images become your property, and you can stamp your own logo on there as well.

    Good luck!
