I doubt you will find many suppliers here.

What are you planning to sell? DVD? Sports equipment? Beach balls?

    1. If you plan on being a reseller then you would want to contact the manufacturers directly. Ask for a price list and catalog. *They may not share the price list until you are an approved reseller.
    2. Sign up to be a reseller with each manufacturer.
    3. Buy a quantity of products to resell on your site. *I suggest starting out with a sample of a few items to see how they sell.
    4. Start selling.
Before you do all that, make sure you create a business plan. Hire (or contract) a good bookkeeper, if that is not your thing. Make sure this is really what you want to do. If you plan on selling in the US, make sure you read about the Marketplace Fairness Act, because it may change your mind about having an ecommerce site.

Thanks for the tips. I was thinking possibly DVDs, games or even cell phone accessories. Anything that I can legally make a profit.

  • Here's the thing.

Once you've found your niche, I wouldn't tell ANYone what it is.

Same thing if you found a dropshipper. Dropshipping is really, really, hard - and the research/negotiations/leveraging is also really hard.

And if you go and tell everyone what you're selling, and everyone tells you 'Hey, go here - THEY have GREAT Margins!"

Then everyone reading this thread will inundate your little corner with unwanted competition after all your research..

You DID do your research, right? You did run exhaustive numbers of profit margin analysis, right?

Because if you're shooting in the dark, you're not going to be doing this type of business past the 'testing' phase for long.
