Hello, I am hoping someone can help. I am in search of a free e commerce shopping cart and I am wondering what would be the best for my needs. It will be a small store, with several different products. I wish to use paypal for my payments. Security is very important too. It needs to be easy to install and work with. I have some coding experience but not much.

What does everyone recommend?

Altough I'm not very experienced I've been looking at setting up affiliate stores and come across WooCommerce for wordpress. I set it up so if I can anyone can and looks very easy to use. What does everyone else think ?

Go for Magento. Magento is has just one drawback that is its difficult to get started with for non technos but as you said you have little experience in coding then surely Magento is better for you.

You can try Magento for your online store. Magento has been adopted by millions of online business ranging from smaller eCommerce websites to large multinational businesses.

  I will suggest OpenCart. This is a great platform for ecommerce store and it is easy to setup and use.
  
  Magento is also great but the learning curve is very steep specially is you are not a programmer or technical savy.

We've built a countless amount of online stores, dating back to the days when oscommerce was really the only good option.

If you want the best bang for your buck, definitely go with Magento. It is easy to build a very professional looking site (which is important...make sure your store LOOKS and FEELS like a place you would want to give your money to), tons of modules you can add on, and it is easy to find quality magento programmers for cheap.

A lot of the top online stores and big company online stores are built on the magento platform. Also keep that in mind.

  Based on what the OP said, which was Free (opensource), secure and pretty easy to work with, this narrows our choices down.
  
  Woocommerce is out since it is run on wordpress which has security issues.
  Magento is out since, even though it is powerful, it has both a big learning curve and more powerful server needs.
  
  While there are several open source platforms out there, bases on what she is looking for, that leaves about two or maybe three carts available.
  
  Opencart - very popular, tons of functionality and good developer base
  Prestashop - very popular, good functionality but some of the add on modules can be a bit expensive ($200 for the PayPal Pro add on module).
  Zencart - Around a long time and easy, but sites tend to look a bit dated and old.

I definitely think Opencart is a good ecommerce shopping cart. I used it on one of my websites. And I think it is really good andveasy to use
