Are wholesale engagement and wedding rings sold online of good quality?

I am interested in buying engagement and wedding rings in wholesale and
reselling them in my local town. I was wondering if the quality of the rings
being sold is the same as they appear on the wholesalers website or the
quality may be lower. I found a US website selling rings in wholesale
and the shipping costs aren't that high compared to other websites.

If you have ever been engaged in the buying and selling of jewelry online in wholesale, especially rings, I would love to hear your opinion.

Why not buy a sample and take it to a local jeweller and ask them their opinion? You need an expert to know the quality.

AND as 'Onlinestorehelp' says - what makes you different from Blue Nile? Why would I want to buy from you? What are you offering that is better / unique?

The reason why I want to buy and sell the rings is because
I have just moved to a small rural town and there are no
jewelry shops that sell wedding and engagement rings and
most people have to buy them out of town, so I think this is a good
area to get into at the moment.

I am actually just planning to sell them off through social media and word of mouth
to see how everything goes before I think about expanding. I guess I could start
off by buying $ 100 stock to see how good they are.
Most people here don't buy stuff off the Internet, so having a physical inventory
    helps

Why not contact a store in your local town and see if they would sell them for you and split the profits?

Although I would imagine people buying a wedding ring are prepared to drive a bit further than their local town for such an importance purchase

    Good luck

That is a great idea- about outsourcing to other stores-I had actually not thought about that
but I guess I will try and retail them first to see how well they do before I start getting large
    quantities.

Not everyone has the time or money to go out of town in search
of a ring and I guess they will enjoy the advantage of having to buy it
    closer to home.
