If I am an Amazon seller, can I have products shipped direct to Amazon from the company that manufactures them so I can use "fullfillment by Amazon" (FBA) to sell the products or does Amazon want the products to come direct from where I am located and not boxes of products coming to them direct from the manufacturer under my direction if I am signed up for Amazon FBA?

You have to send them the labels and have them packaged and shipped appropriately, unless you pay Amazon to bag and label each individual item for you.

A lot of people do it, and a lot of people advise against doing it because there is the possibility of items being wrong, or missing, or your entire shipment not showing up at all.

I do it though, just make sure Amazon isn't billed for anything coming in internationally. Instant ban.

I wouldn't trust the company to do it right. And even if I did trust the company to do it right, I don't think it would take long before the manufacturer wonders why they even need you.

So I would need to have the products shipped to wherever I am and then reship them to Amazon to make sure it is all done right. This is going to eat into profits with the two shipping costs (one to me and one from me to Amazon).

Is it pretty simple to find cheap products overseas and make a profit by selling them on Amazon?

How do I reverse engineer a top Amazon seller so I can find out what is selling well?

How do I then locate a supplier after reverse engineering a top seller?

      Thanks for your help.

Amazon doesn't make a lot of past sales data easily available to you. It's pretty valuable information. You could try something like: Terapeak for Amazon

An option you might look into is to pay an additional amount to have an export agent/3rd party apply labels, polybag and/or shrink wrap the items to meet Amazons requirements. Many of them are so desperate for business right now that they might do it for no additional cost.

Well it's just 1 extra shipping charge right?

"Simple" is relative I guess, but I would say that it's like anything else, once you do it then it is very easy.

This year, I've got 4 products in the hopper that I'm importing from overseas. The last one that I locked up, I will clear $6-$8 (depending on how aggressively I price it) on each sale (including all transportation costs). Total investment was around $4600.

    Hello KingArthur,

I understand what you are wanting to do and it will save you some steps in your business cycle. However, you SERIOUSLY run the risk of messing up the works. Believe me I have been dropshipping a while...a long while.

You can still use fulfillment by Amazon, however you are going to have to pony up that extra shipping charge and have the shipment sent to your home to do the usual quality control...then send it to the Amazon warehouse for fulfillment.
