Generally it's not a MAP violation to use a coupon. MAP applies to "advertised price" so things like coupons, Buy 2 Get 1 Free etc. are not relevant.

Absolutely. If I was competing against you I would report you to the manufacturer. The only way you can offer a discount on a MAP product is if the manufacturer or distributor is offering a special promotion and has authorized all dealers to offer the discount. That's why there is a MAP price to hold the line and make it profitable to sell a certain brand. It also holds the value of the brand.

Those dealers who break MAP lose their dealerships with a good company.

If you don't believe me, ask your wholesaler or manufacturer your question.

I believe this is incorrect. MAP stands for Minimum Advertised Price and regulates "advertised prices"

I believe you will find the answer in the real world if you call the manufacturer and ask them.

Since I sell with companies at MAP prices, I have called them and I have relayed the info they told me. No discounts.

I also suggested that the poster call the company she is dealing with to correct it.

Real world experience, not based on an article from the SBA. But even so, the article points out that manufacturers frown on discount coupons and they may consider them a violation of MAP

        Quoting from the SBA article

"Be careful with coupon codes. It’s safer to advertise the coupon—not the product that it can be applied against—so as not to imply that you are advertising the MAP item at a reduced price. Instead, be clear about what items are excluded from any coupon code promotion."
