I was thinking to use Magento Go for my business.
However, soon I found Magento CE give more flexibility.
So, now I'm thinking to use Mangento CE for my business.
However, I saw many posts that magento community need very high learning curv.

How hard to use magento CE??
I don't have a time to study a lot, and money to spend a lot.
I'm OK to spend up to $1000 to give a life for magento site.

These are what I'm thinking..
I'll host magento CE using siteground host service.
I don't need complex custom design.
I will use default template, or will buy template.
And, I just want to update company name, address, and upload logo.
And I'll install necessary program.
That's it.

These are my questions..
So, to do what I'm thinking(upload company logo, install program..), do I need any PHP coding things?
Does upgrading require too much time or effort?
Are there many errors while using magento CE?

Thank you in advance.
& Happy Thanksgiving!

I think you will make the right decision to choose Magento CE for your ecommerce site. It does have a little learning curve, but nothing that can't be done through the web admin panel unless you need a lot of customizations. I think most that say it has a high learning curve refers to the template engine and how to customize it. For that you will need a solid understand of PHP and programming principles. If you buy a ready-made template that will not be a problem. You can just upload the template and launch your store. You can change your logo, name address info etc through the admin panel.

If I were to give you a recommentation, it would be to spend a little on a good hosting service for your store. Magento is a resource hog and requires an optimized server. Most shared hosts will not be suitable for Magento (despite they might tell you so) because they are too limited in terms of CPU and RAM usage. If you choose a cheap server you will find that your site is slow. If your site takes more than 2-3 seconds to load visitors will not bother and you lose a lot of sales.

I recommend hosting in the $20-$100/mo range to get good performance.

Upgrading Magento can be a little complicated. Especially in the early days many people were having problems, but this was mainly due to incorrectly configured servers. The upgrade process has become more reliable, but I recommend that you have some knowledge of SSH and PHP/MySQL if you are going to upgrade yourself as there might be things that needs manual work. Most of the Magento hosting companies provide a paid upgrade service, though, if you don't want to risk it yourself.

Finally, I can recommend magespeedtest.com for some real benchmark results from different Magento hosts. This site is more trustworthy than all those "Top 5" review sites you find around, which only lists the hosts that pay the highest affiliate commission.

    I hope this helps.

      Thank you very much.
I already joined Siteground GoGeek Service.
It might not as good as what you recommended.
However I'm sure it will provide enough performance what I expect.

I have couple of questions more.

      1. Template
I saw some templates from template monster, algozone.
Is their template good to use? After buying their template, can I install any plugins that I want to install? Do there are kind of conflict between template and plugins?

Do you recommend buying template from those company or from individual programmer or someone like that.

If you know some one or some other company who do make good template, please recommend for me.

      2.
I saw posts that using program(plugin) for magneto have many error, so I need to have good knowledge to deal with the errors. Is it true?
Are those plugins are Just install and ready to use or install and fix to use sometime?

      3. Tutorial

I found a very good tutorial from SiteGround. Magento Tutorials – All you need to know about Magento!

Is there a better way to learn magento or better lectures to study?

      Thank you.

        1. I don't have any personal recommandations when it comes to template providers, but I guess template monster will work. Just make sure the template is compatible with the version of Magento you will be using (latest is 1.8.0.0).

        2. Are you referring to a particular Magento extension? Most extensions can easily be install through Magento Connect. There are probably badly coded extensions with bugs out there, but that is not Magento's fault.

Magento will eat you alive. There are over 12,500 files in the raw system alone and finding how to do mods is hell. If this is your first time with Magento you better bring your sword and mace.
