It will almost always get there, but there are a lot of scammers that will claim they did not receive the package... you use tracking mostly so you don't get scammed. Also tracking provides some insurance for lost packages, but is really something that seems to be about 1 in 1000.

I recommend you to use tracking.
You will get more credibility with your customers and they will
buy from you again with trust.

I do not recommend shipping an item on eBay without any form of tracking. Not including a tracking number after a sale to eBay/PayPal counts against your selling status and metrics.

Agreed. Always include tracking/confirmation. It will save you in the long run. If you're shipping a few packages a month, it probably won't matter, but if you're shipping items every day or even several times a week, get the tracking. As others have said, it will protect you against claims and will keep customers happy

  • ALWAYS use tracking!

    Here's why:

It will go into your top-rated seller evaluations. If a seller says they never got a package, they could open up a case against you that they didn't get the item. Now - if you cannot PROVE that you sent the item - (via tracking number) then you will lose that case.

Cases made against you, and that you lose, go against your policy compliance and also against your top-rated seller evaluations.

This can hurt your bottom line, and your rankings which could be quite damaging.

Buyers can know this when there is no tracking number. Although it would be a d-bag move, (and rare) it can happen.

Protect yourself. Ship with tracking, and if someone DOES claim they didn't get the item - all you'll have to do is provide the tracking number that shows the item as 'delivered' and you will win that case every. single. time.

It depends on the cost - how much extra is tracking?

How much really gets lost / undelivered vs the extra time and money?

You could argue that if you invested the time and money into offering lower prices or source more products that would be more profitable long term.

Always get the tracking info with any products you ship. Its a great way to prove when you shipped your product and it is more professional.Plus you then have a reference AND future return customer. After about a month,I would always shoot my ebay customers an email saying I hope you enjoyed the product and for you today and tomorrow only, you get 10% off any item in my store OR free shipping on any item. Most people will jump on deals like those. Its always easier to sell to an existing customer.Try and ship within 24 hours as well. You can highlight that in your descriptions and set yourself a part from the competition.
