Question for Shopify Expert

I have a Shopify store and it is doing pretty good with traffic from Google product ads.

But here is my question for a Shopify expert who really knows the answer. Please no guesses or advice from those who don't really know.

Here is my question:

If I add substantial quality content to the blog section of my Shopify store will in create any significant organic traffic?

Or would I be better just investing in more Google ads?

Like I said, I would love to hear from someone who has a client or has tried this themselves.

Thanks.

While I am sure good content won't hurt, I have never seen a huge increase in sales from the blog platform. It is also not a very sophisticated platform so in cases where a blog makes sense, I throw a wordpress site up on a subdomain (blog.myshoppingsite.com) since it gives you more functionality.

If Google shopping is driving traffic, you never mentioned if you were using the other comparison shopping portals (bing shopping, thefind, etc.) With retail tower you could get those up at the very least on the free ones (i.e. bing thefind) and test. Depending on the Niche some of those platforms can be very effective.

Thanks for the input. I thought this was the case. I am looking at Bing and am about to try it.

The days of drawing organic traffic with some good content are gone. I think it makes more sense to expand on the paid advertizing.

      Thanks again!

    Two questions:

    1. Are you in a niche that is highly competitive in either SEO or PPC?

    2. Would you be opposed to doing both?

It is highly competitive and I have basically decided to put the money and effort into more product ads based on the experience of others using Shopify.
