Google Adword Analysis

Hey Guys! Beginner Here!

So I've been looking for a niche to get into and been learning about the Google AdWords:Keywords Tool.

Basically I researched this product(Only search criteria is that I'm targeting UK).

So I searched this product and results for the product are 2400 AVG Monthly searches. Is this market worth attacking? If I find the CPC reasonable?

Then I added the word "cheap" infront of the product and searched it. Came back with 70 AVG Monthly Searched....

So my question is, is this product worth selling?

Sorry, if this sounds stupid but I've been searching the forums up and down. There doesn't really seem to be a "perfect" AVG Monthly Search:CPC:Competition level ratio

Tough to say with the info you are giving. 2.400 searches might be ok if the item is popular in a particular niche.

Did you search eBay and Amazon for the product and see where it ranked sales wise?

That might give you more of the data you need.

That's off the top of my head.

I have to agree with lastreporter but at worse case even if you are able to generate profit and sales are minimal its still passive and profitable.

        Hi xunliujeffery,

You didn't give us enough information to answer your question. The previous version of Google's keyword tool would allow us to get phrase match data, which was useful in determining the relative size of the Long Tail for your niche.

The new AdWords Keyword Planner tool only shows exact match data, so you must expand your keyword list to include every variation of the term(s) that you can think of, that are relevant for your product, and then add the data from all of those keywords to get an idea of the relative size of your niche. Some products have a huge Long Tail, while others do not.

70 searches a month would be ok if you can have multiple long tailed KWs. Let's say you have 10 that has 150 searches each per month. Then that would be cool since you have multiple KW phrases you can rank for. btw - it's a lot easier to rank for the low hanging fruit.
