hello,
We want to try shopify for their 14 day free trial. Are you using a test domain site (in case you want to back out) or are you using your real domain site?

thanks

You should use a test domain so you dont have to go to all that trouble if you dont like it.

When you first start with shopify they set you up on a subdomain, so it would be something like mystore.myshopify.com so you can play around with it until you are ready to go live. Once you do, you have the choice of pointing your domain to it, mystore.com or putting it on a subdomain to an existing website, store.mystore.com.

always use a test domain, you can later point it to your site. Remember if you do decide to not use it, make sure it's 100% dead.. I know one would assume spotify would kill the site, but I've had customers buy from my trial sites after I let the trial expire.... Apparently they indexed faster than my own hosted sites! lol.

Always use the test site first, as stated earlier. I used mine for the trial period, then decided on my direction.

Sorry for the newbie question, I'm new to Ecom.
    Thanks a bunch,

Hey overtonis, i tried shopify... and although I liked it, I quickly noticed that I wanted things differently - so this is just my advice: if you are not too attached to shopify, then you might want to try out magento (Ecommerce Software & Ecommerce Platform Solutions | Magento). It is free and has some very awesome extentions.
