Hey,

How do you guys set up your checkout pages? It seems that PCI compliance is a big deal and I'm looking for a service that offers hosted checkout pages like Mijireh (which I don't like and the support sucks). I really like the Infusionsoft checkout pages but I don't have the money right now to pay 199$/month. Any other options?

Thanks

Well, what are you selling? Are you selling information/digital products or are you selling physical products. How many products? Are you looking for something to embed in Wordpress? What is your budget?

Most times I use hosted PCI Compliant shopping carts that are loads cheaper than infusionsoft. It all depends on your needs. If you can tell us what you are selling, we can point you. If not look at Americart. It is owned by Americommerce and is $25/month and is PCI Compliant.

Maybe you should try a simple e-commerce software program like BigCommerce or Shopify.

Over the years they are the top 2 I would recommend.

3dcart is good too but doesn't offer better features than the ones I mentioned. And, Volusion is expensive when it comes to their bandwidth fees as their highest plan is 35gb. bandwidth.

All are PCI Compliant and includes bandwidth, storage, abandoned cart recovery and more. It just seems like the smart option.

    *Hope this helps

I'm looking for something to embed with Wordpress. I'm selling multiple digital products and I don't want to pay more than 20$/month for the checkout page.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll look into every one of your suggestions.

Have you tried Woo Commerce. It's a Wordpress plugin and people's who sell small items usually have positive experiences with Woo Commerce.

Woocommerce is not PCI compliant and it is not even a PCI certified cart. Since he is concerned with security woocommerce is not a good suggestion.

Sorry, I didn't know about that concerning Woo. It's one of those e-commerce plugins that I only really know a little about. If I had known they weren't PCI compliant, I wouldn't have suggested it.

Honestly, if that's the case then mzee99 should try Shopify's lowest plan, the Starter Plan, which is $14 a month, but won't offer as much features as the higher plans and is 100% PCI Compliant (Level 1).

I don't know any plugin that will cost $20/month and is PCI Compliant as well. Maybe mzee99 should consider using Wordpress as a blog and connect the blog and e-commerce site to each other.

Yea I use Woocommerce and like OnlineStoreHelp said, it's not PCI Compliant. Right now, I'm thinking Braintree but if it doesn't work out, I'll probably go for Shopify. Thanks!

Hey, I''m using Infusionsoft for 3 years now and it sucks! We're paying 2k a month for 300K subscribers.... There are always bugs that never benn fixed or takes forever to fix. We always have issues on our campaign and people not able to buy for some stupid issues that are not fixed.

Support is terrible. I always wait 30 minutes - 1 hour on the phone to get a hold of somebody. The line is always full... I wonder how many complain they received everyday!!! They have been funded but they used it for marketing stuff rather than fixing and improving the development and support problems.

The end is near for them. Alot of unhappy customers.

I recommend to use shopify or bigcommerce if you want the checkout pages only....

Especially if you're a developer, Stripe is a good option. I think between it and Paypal are good entry level payment options. Beyond this, you're looking at a bank powered merchant account which whilst more expensive in the short-term, will prove more economical in the long run.

    Hi there,

If I may pipe into this discussion...

PCI compliance is greatly misunderstood in my opinion. Often it seems to be used as a marketing gimmick by companies to get you to use their services (i.e. we are PCI compliant blah, blah, blah).

The truth is that if you never see or even touch cardholder data like a credit card number or CCV code your PCI compliance burden is a big, fat ZERO!

    NADA.

You don't need PCI compliance in that case and can use whatever shopping cart or other software you want.

The ONLY software that MUST be PCI compliant is that which actually touches and stores cardholder data.

If you use PayPal, Stripe, and other companies to actually handle cardholder data to collect money FOR you, you don't need to worry about PCI compliance anything yourself.

I would start simply with Paypal or stripe. You can get more advanced with dynamic paypal button generation, SSL and encryption later if you want to host the checkout page yourself.

But really, a lot of the big name marketers are still just using paypal where all data is held off your site.
