I am sorry to tell you that you will almost certainly be risking your money regardless of who you buy from outside of the destination countries. Suppliers may well appear legit, but that will not protect you.

The companies you name already have distribution networks established in Chile and Argentina and they will zealously protect their brands against anyone trying to import those brands.

The result will be confiscation at the border, and if the quantity is sufficient there will be fines and sometimes prosecution. In some cases the brand owners will sue.

We talked with 3 lawyers from respective countries and they told us will not have any problem. Plus are many registered brands selling this products, and not 2 or 3, hundreds per month, and i know personally 2 owners, told me the same, 0 problems with this.

If parallel imports are legal in Chile and Argentina, you will probably be OK.

Here is a brief summary of the rules, but I am not offering legal advice:

If there is no legislation specifically prohibiting parallel imports in those countries, then under the international principle of exhaustion of intellectual property rights, the exclusive right of the patent holder to import the protected product is exhausted, and thus ends, when the product is first launched on the market. If a country does not recognize this principle, however, only the patent holder who has been registered has the right to import the protected product.

I hope you will not have any problems. Good luck.

You might want to look further into this... I'm living in Argentina right now and I was trying to find a replacement part for an Apple product yesterday. There are only 2 stores in Buenos Aires that sell them because they are the only authorized dealers and the other electronics stores are not allowed to carry them.

Yes, about replacement need to be authorized reseller and you don't need to buy from them to have a replacement, that's why they are original resellers, its suppose to bring customer support.
But Apple don't really care about Argentina, for them is like other 3rd world country(its the true, and im Argentinian), so they will not be investigating or researching if someone, which is not autorizhed reseller, are selling their products or not.
Since they release iPhone 2G people being selling their products here and they aren't resellers, so think no need to worry about.
