I have Google Analytics on most of my sites. However, I don't use it to it full potential. Very pedestrian use. How many of you know it well enough to read the data? And, how long did it take you to fully understand it functions?

I only ask because I'm thinking of taking the Analytics Academy offered by Google, online. It's a four week course, not too strenuous, and offers a whole lot of information. Like I said, I just want to clearly understand it so I can see where SEO is making a difference in one of my sites.

It is free. There is an advanced course offered that will provide you with a certificate at the end, and with a test passing rate of 80%. Now this certification is a 'real' one. From what I understand, it is free also--you only have to pay $50 for the materials. This one, however, is more in-depth. I want to take that one further down the road.

I had never heard of their academy. Thanks for the info. Enrolled myself since I feel like you do that I only scratch the surface of analytics.

Google analytics is actually quite powerful. Here is a good analytics checklist:

It's great for traffic segmentations and conversion funnels.
