Ecommerce platform for affiliate website

I'm planning on setting up an Amazon affiliate website using an ecommerce platform such as Opencart, Prestashop, Zencart etc. I have mostly used Wordpress before but want to try something different this time. Does anyone have experience with this and which, if any, of the ecommerce platforms is best suited for selling Amazon or other affiliate products?

Both Opencart and Magento allow for this. Magento through a $299 plugin. I haven't played with the Opencart modules yet but I know they are there.

Have had some experience with Magento and for me the sites were quite sluggish, sometimes completely unresponsive.
Perhaps they've corrected those bugs, but I'd go looking for plenty of reviews on the service before making a decision.

I've heard a lot of negative reviews about Megento so I steered clear of that one. I now have Opencart installed and I quite like the look and feel of it and it seems not too steep a learning curve getting to grips with the admin interface. I also found an extension called, "OpenCart Amazon Affiliate WebStore" which looks like a pretty good solution for selling Amazon products.

When they first got big, I looked at the source code for Magento. It's a complete mess. The kind of bugs that can't be fixed without a complete re-write.

Are you doing it for the really high commissions that Amazon pays out or because its easy money.

    No sarcasm here.

No, I didn't detect any sarcasm in your comment at all. Anyway, Amazon is not usually my first choice but for certain niches it just makes sense.

Actually you can build very good site for referral program in magento, its not only meant for ecommerce. Regarding plugins, yes there are few high priced and few simple. You can check prices of different modules here.

Opencart has a mod to do it for $29.00. Do a search in the extension store at opencart.com. Haven't tried it yet, though it is planned for a future project.

Why would you do that when Woocommerce has built in shopping for affiliate urls, digital products and physical products? It's already out of the box ready to make an ecommerce affiliate site

Woocommerce is for Wordpress. If you read my original post, you would have seen that I didn't want to use Wordpress.
