Anyone have both Amazon and drop ship stores?

I can't decide between putting an Amazon store or a drop ship site on my domain? Has anyone tried both and prefer one over the other? I'm assuming drop ship is more profitable but after looking into the "drop ship" fee it definitely cuts into the profit margin.

Any input?

    I've never used an amazon webstore, though I am a 3p seller on amazon and have been since 2006 as well as having my own online stores. My own stores are more profitable of course since I'm not competing with other sellers on price, but you cannot beat amazon for traffic.

    An amazon webstore, however, does NOT benefit from Amazon traffic - you have to build it using SEO, etc, just like any other online store, so honestly, if you are not comfortable doing html/php/design work on your own, a hosted solution like Amazon's webstores can be a good way to start out. Just be sure to take their monthly fee into account when figuring out your margins.

    Many of my products are not drop shipped btw, but hopefully this will answer your question?

    You should try both but on different domains. Both will work if you will make a blue print to execute first.
