CMS is better option for instantly launching the website, but when coming to future enhancement its very difficult.
So my opinion is going with ready made php script will help you in instant launch and future enhancement.

It really depends on what you're ultimately going to want to do with your website. You can see that a few people in this thread have already suggested Magento. This is definitely one of the most popular shopping cart platforms out there.

A ton of smaller sellers use the Community Edition of Magento, which is free and open-source. A ton of huge merchants use the Enterprise Edition of Magento. It's a high-quality product that's been around for forever, so it's got a lot of trust behind it.

Still, it can be complicated, which is why I advise taking a good look at the exact functionality you'll want to build into your store. Magento can almost definitely handle it, but when things start to get complicated, Magento can be tough to deal with (heck, it can be tough to deal with even when things aren't too complicated).

A lot of sellers using the CE of Magento often wind up hiring a licensed Magento developer to help them achieve their goals. Additionally there are a lot of message boards and forums that can help you with Magento-specific questions, not excluding this one.

There are other options, too, in addition to Magento and WordPress. You can try other hosted options like Bigcommerce and 3dCart -- both of which are incredibly easy to use right out of the box, and can have you setting yourself up with a really nice-looking store without a lot of design or programming experience at all.

    Hope this helps!

Whatever works for you. In my case open cart is good, but I had clients who are successful with wordpress and even oscommerce.

For the beginner OpenCart is best solution IMO. OpenCart is great solution, they have large range of different extensions and plugins. If this is Your first eCommercial store I highly suggest using Opencart. You can set it up pretty much without any cost or very little.

I would agree, host your own e-commerce site on your own domain and both Wordpress and Magento would be good to use, there are also many others out there like oscommerce, zencart, oscmax, open cart.
