Hello

I need help on marketing price structure in UK, lets say this way, I have a product, how many resellers are in the way to get it into shops like Rituals Shop or Boots or any similar body/skin care related ?

An other example, if my product cost me 0.70p and I add +0.30p profit , whats the final price for the buyer? and how can I calculate my profit? how can I understand how much I can add to that 0.30 if thats too low ?

for example I sell it £1 for 5000 as bulk , and final buyer buys for £2.5 , if that a good/fair price to sell or possibility to sell for £1.15 ?

I know its confusing but I need to find out how can I do it in right way .

Any help appreciated .

I don't even know if there is a standard ANYWHERE! One guy once told me that in export there are all these guys asking for a cut, but I think the only way that is true is if you also sell through stores and deal with someone like you on the other side, etc...

In the US, there is usually, at least in industries I have been in, ONE intermediary. It just makes things simpler. If there is a franchise, they may buy from a central area that could add another one. SOMETIMES, like if there is an exclusivity agreement, they could add ANOTHER one!

SO, a company may produce a product.
They may have an exclusivity agreement that requires they go through another guy in a region.
They may sell to a distributor.
They may sell to a company HQ.
They may sell to a company.
The company sells to the consumer.

When I was selling products, I USUALLY bought from a distributor. Sometimes I bought from the company, but many would not sell to dealers! In one case, I even bought from a company selling parts to companies to build their products.

    Thanks a lot Steve ,
That's right, I have exclusive rights from main company with my special price only for me. but I need to come up with a price including good profit for me but still reasonable price for bulk buying for distributor or shops.

Any other help from you appreciated, we can also export the products anywhere if you interested .

    Best Regards

Usually exclusive rights are offered only for a region or format. You are in the UK and I am in the US. But yeah, this is hard to determine. Look at amazon! They INSISTED that a lot of companies give them a 40% margin. Of course they probably ended up going to the main regional company, in many cases, and cut out the distributor.

Average profit markup in retail is 260%. I'm into retail that's why I know but sometime you also need to consider several other factors like demand, supply, inflation, season, competition, location etc.

This is just a rough guide.
