Ideas to Increase Average Order Size of Ecommerce Store

We have a new ecommerce site that is doing pretty well with conversion rate (visitors to sales is 6-18% depending on traffic source) but we need to increase our average order size. Any good courses to recommend or tips you want to suggest?

There's a popup in cart with an offer that has a decent conversion rate (25%) but it only makes us a few extra bucks. Average order is $15 and we'd prefer it to be $30. Main issue is that visitors only go to one page of our site and pretty much miss every single other product we have available (and we make more money on those products than the one that entices them to site).

Here are some ideas that work for us.

    * Offer coupons with a high minimum. For example $5 off $60, or 15% off $100.

    * Offer free shipping with a certain minimum (Maybe free shipping with $75 spent)

    * Focus on promoting cross sell items and up-sell items. This can be very effective if done right and it helps if your shopping cart has these features.

Thanks! We are doing free shipping already. The focus on cross-sell and up-sell is where we're having an issue. The cross-sells that work best aren't making us much money. The cross-sells that haven't worked are the ones that make us the most money per product (but it doesn't convert!) Not sure where/how to offer upsells. We cannot do a one-click upsell with our current cart set-up which totally stinks. Unless anyone has a trick around that. We use Woocommerce.

Yes, we're doing that for sure! Just looking for ways to increase initial order size.

    Hi Jenn,

May be you need a more powerful cross sell plugin or script that can increase your average order value

Let me know if you need more information on that

    Cheers!
