Hi warriors, I have an ecommerce website and my SSL certificate is not yet activate. Each time customer tries to make payment it always "declined transaction". Is it because of my SSL certificate? Thanks

And since we know what payment processor you are using we can answer this question.

An SSL certificate provides a layer of security and encrypts data when important information such as credit card details are submitted. It should not have affect on the overall success of the transaction.

I would however suggest you do not trade using ecommerce without an SSL certificate installed, they are relatively easy to activate. Your customers and their security should be a priority.

However, are the customers using valid and correct credit card details that are not being refused by their corresponding organisations? Have you personally set up everything correctly so that the transaction may complete without error? I highly doubt the absence of an SSL certificate is causing such issues, there is a problem with the card details, your back-end, or the gateway.

I would speak with your processor about this. Its does not seem like an SSL issue.

If you're using hosted payment solution - ie payment details are entered on payment processor hosted page then SSL is not needed on your side at all.

It seems that your problem lies somewhere else since most likely you are using hosted solution.
