Hey all,

I'm writing a blog post on ecommerce product categories and the pros/cons of each. I'm specifically looking at the following:
  • Automotive
  • Beauty
  • Business & Industrial
  • Children & Baby
  • DIY
  • Electronics & Computers
  • Garden & Outdoors
  • Home Appliances
  • Home Furnishings
  • Jewellery & Accessories
  • Mens Clothing
  • Sports & Fitness Clothing
  • Sports Equipment
  • Womens Clothing

If you currently sell or have had experience of selling these products I'd love to hear your story. I'm looking for background on margins, pricing, warehousing, sales, suppliers, sourcing, marketing etc i.e pretty much anything that you've learnt in relation to the product.

I've personally experienced the Business & Industrial category and i'm sure it's radically different to clothing/apparel. It would be nice to compare and contrast them with real-life stories and examples.

    I think the first you should try to sell things that people are using every day such as shaver , sock, hair strimmer ... They have good conversion rate so that you can sell easily.

      I guess it's a decent arguement, obviously commodities like these probably dictate you compete on price which is difficult. (unless you make the widget right)

I just developed a perfume website on joomla and I found that perfumes prices are very high especially in uk. But the owner was very kind and he sent me some perfumes sample as well.
