Why would you want to buy a pre-owned store?

For $1,000 you can easily build your own eCommerce store. This is more than enough money to get started with a good quality store.

Disadvantages of Buying Pre-Owned Store
- Risk of bad SEO practices that are difficult to remedy
- Risk of bad backlinks that would require Disavowing
- Risk of not meeting revenue expectations

Advantages of Building Your Own Stores
- Clean slate to work with. Can start 'best practice' work from the beginning.
- Takes time to build traffic, but at least it's good quality from the beginning.
- More likely to build in a niche that you understand and enjoy

It's quite simple to build your own store these days. There are so many tools and options available. It's quick and cheap.

To get started ...

Step 1: Buy some step-by-step training, if you have no knowledge in this field.
Step 2: Decide on your niche. Pick something you like.
Step 3: Setup a Bigcommerce or Shopify store. They are cheap and easy to use.
Step 4: Find a dropshipper or approach an eBay store
Step 5: Start promoting your product.

You can purchase a subscription with one of the hosted providers and get started yourself. That would, for me at least, be a better option the buying someone else's site.

Buying a $1,000 website is like buying a $1,000 used car. You will spend more to make sure it work properly. You better off use Shopify, Bigcommerce and etc. Those site are 50% built and someone can set everything up for you for about $1,000

I suggest building your own store and finding your own products to sell. Might be a much better solution.

Spend maybe $25 or less a month on a hosted solution, then pump half of your cash into marketing it. Build some brand and you'll get the site moving in lets say around 2 months. I think it's a fair chance rather than buying a site.

Problem would be, there can be proof of sales but you wouldn't know what would happen after it's been moved over to your side. So best is that you have control of it all the way from the start.

Suggestion is that you don't go for a self hosted yet or get a dev. Because they would eat up almost your whole $1K
