Dropshipping site review

Hi

I have seen lots of people give great advice on here and I was wondering if somebody could take a look at my new site.

I am an application developer and I was giving some advice to a friend who sells online and runs a racing car (Mazda MX 5).

He was using some great car products that he sells online from the US and he is the UK distributor. Anyway the car looks fantastic, then out of the blue he suggested I could sell the car detailing products online for him as he does not yet have a site and to save the cost he would give me 30% off the product cost and he would drop ship my sales.

So I jumped at the chance... why I don't know, I don't really know much about polish but I love cars! So anyway I created a site and I am not sure if it hits the mark.

      the homepage is quite text heavy and the font is a little too small but that could just be my monitor.

      i would make the products more prominent and use larger text with smaller paragraphs.

        Thanks for that. I think the reason I put the text there was because I did not think there was enough for an about us page, but as you have suggested it could be just turning people away.

          yes, i think most customers are interested in what you have to sell foremost. the about page should be seperate i think even if there isnt that much text - as it's less important.

          your site design is pretty good so that gives you enough credibility.

            Thanks for your comments. For now until I can work out what to put on the front page I have taken the text off and increased the number of products on display.

            Again I am not showing product prices on the front page as I want people to click through to something of interest rather than make a snap price decision.

            I feel I do need some sort of text on the front page but as you say something snappy and easy to read.

    I think your site looks great, very clean and easy to navigate. I didn't see a phone number listed on the home page, but I do see that you have contact information on the site. In my personal experience I notice that when I have a contact phone number prominently displayed that it adds to the sites credibility. Oftentimes, people don't call but they like to see that it is there just in case.

    Other than that I think you've done a great job!

      Thank you for that. I am in the process of sorting out how I will handle the phone calls, which I am hoping with a product of this type should be kept to a minimum!

      I will be adding a number shortly. My big task is now driving traffic to the site, which is going to be tough but might be a challenge I quite enjoy.

      I have also added the products to an ebay shop to get the name out there and also I send a delivery note with the website address on it so hopefully this will help.

    Like many has said, the fonts are a bit small and it is text heavy. I suggest using more photos to do the advertising and also try adding some color. It seems a bit bland so I suggest spicing it up. The website at first glance doesn't attract my attention and I believe that is something critical to focus on when designing your site. Think as a consumer when designing. Good luck.

    30% off is terrible! You need 40 to 50% off. Why? Depending on which marketplace you are going to sell on, you will have to pay commission to them which could range from 8% to 20%. If you sell on Rakuten, you will most likely pay them 15% commission on the items selling price, AND they take 15% of the shipping charges you charge the buyer, AND they change .99 per item sold fee.

    So if are only getting 30% profile from your friend, subtract 15% plus another .99 cents and then 15 off the shipping, you might only be making 5 to 10% profit in the end.
