Free Methods for promoting Amazon physical products

Hi all,

I have listed a couple of private label products (I have unique UPC code and ASIN for them) on the Amazon.com website. In order to gain some traction and start selling, I would like to do some promotion outside Amazon.

I would like to know some promotion methods that will be free (ideally) or without spending too much money. From your experience, how do you promote your own Amazon products from outside Amazon?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Harris

All the usual traffic generation methods will work:

Do you have a blog? If not start one and promote your products there. Use the top buyer and product search terms in the title and content.

Submit the blog to blog submission sites.

Bookmark your blog & web 2.0 sites to the top 20 social bookmarking sites.

Create videos with the top terms in the title and description. Submit to the top-10 video submission sites.

Submit free or paid press releases. Use the top terms in title and content.

Build web 2.0 sites & blogs on Blogspot, Pinterest, About.me, Tumblr, Weebly, etc.

    Do a Social Media blitz.

Build a Facebook page. Use product name & search terms in name of page and in the content.

Start a Twitter account and promote your products there.

Find the RSS feeds for all your accounts/pages & submit them to RSS feed distribution sites.

Promote products on free/paid advertising sites: Craigslist, Kijiji, eBay Classifieds, Backpage, etc.

IMer, Jim Edwards, tells how to find Amazon buyer keywords here:

Find relevant forums in your niche and build some relationship, then promote your products softly.

I wanted to ask if I can link directly to my Amazon product page inside my Facebook page. I plan to build a facebook page about my niche and promote my Amazon products through this page.

      Thanks again

What I've read somewhere is that it's better to create a own comparison webpage, and post it on your facebook page.

        Why?

Because if the FB page send to your Amazon Product page, the visitor might see your product and buy, but will also see "people also like this", plus your competitors paid ads...

But on your own comparison webpage, you gain the ability to highly promote your amazon item, and even if they don't buy it, they'll click on the other (affiliated) products so it's a win-win situation.

Please share your success with PL promotions on Amazon!
