Alternatives to Channel Advisor

So we have been looking at Channel Advisor, but their install process is not pleasant and there is a lot of marketing but read reports that the solutions is not up to scratch - plus the $5,000/mth fees so we understand. It is primarily for multi-channel sales (Amazon, eBay) and pulling in product data feeds from suppliers (pricing, inventory) with data cleansing and mapping.

We have come across a few including LinnWorks but you need to work in a third party app, need to research BrightPearl, it is for Magento at the moment. Interested in peoples thoughts and experiences.

So we just looked at eComDash and that is for Nano enterprise so no good for us. SolidCommerce seems more Micro Enterprise so still no good and we're not in to the revenue share model. We are going to launch 180+ countries with 100s thousand to millions of products across all the channels back to Magento CE. In the meantime we spoke to some people who are SAP consultants and they are releasing a multi-channel based on large enterprise business processes that can handle our needs on fixed price - so seems like the option for us compared to Channel Advisor.

We looked at both of these, we need something at Channel Advisor levels, they will not work for us. We see you are quoting 3dcart and other similar sme platforms, we need something more similar to Hybris or ATG - but we are on Magento - it's a complex international department store style setup. Anyway, there is a possibility of something that might work for us - waiting on information.

    Hi Serpyre,

Great to hear you have looked into our software, I was wondering what the 3rd party app was?

To be honest there is a lot of options out there, I would say research for one that fits all your needs, doesn't hold you in a 12 month contract and gives you a free trial with technical support so you can learn the software and make sure it is the right choice for you and your business.

If you're using just Magento then you do have M2E Pro as well, but I would like to mention that it can cause a lot of strain on your Magento server.

Any questions, please feel free to contact me.

M2E isn't going to work, it requires configurables and we use custom options plus not sure if it has the granularity such as per channel markups to recoup fees. We are still waiting on the details, Vanquish Channel, designed by SAP consultants so has the heritage. Channel Advisor seems to have high startup and is revenue share based which we don't like, Vanquish Channel is only for growth targeting companies so not sure as a startup whether we can get access to it. We thought that there would be more than those two at these levels - but obviously not - unless we moved to Hybris and that is seriously expensive.

What was the reason you didn't choose Linnworks? I know you mentioned a 3rd party app? I was wondering what that was?

Two primary reasons, there is no onboarding tool to auto-map supplier products to Magento - we need a cut down version of Heiler. The other is we are expecting to pay ~$2,000/mth, that is effectively the max price of your platform whereas the other two start at this price so provide us more growth opportunities - we are targeting 20%-50% YOY growth.
