When you order wholesale for Amazon, are scouting apps still a must have?

I am referring to scouting apps such as profit bandit to make purchasing decisions when you order wholesale

I think they are more relevant if you do retail arbitrage. Just get a price list from the wholesaler and compare the prices to Amazon. If the margins are too low, move onto the next supplier. The closer you can get to the manufacturer of a product, the better your price is going to be.

But you can still use the app for wholesaling purposes, right?

I am just trying to save time, that's all

all depends on how fresh their data is. you dont want to compare prices which are days or months old

Are you referring to the app or Amazon itself, when you are talking about how fresh their data is?

I thought both Profit Bandit and Amazon are always both in sync

I do not use any app in my FBA business but I know that Profit Bandit is very popular for those doing retail arbitrage or going to liquidation stores. You will be able to see the Amazon price details in those remote locations. For online wholesales I do not think it is needed.

I do make a lot of use of camalcamelcamel.com which show the seling details of most items on Amazon. You can filter by time frames such as 1 month, 3 months, etc and the prices are clear as well as the numbers sold. I set it up as a plug in on my browser.

I don't rely much on sales rank, but I'm a huge fan of camelcamelcamel, and Profit Bandit does have camelcamelcamel built into it

When it comes to wholesale you shouldn't need any of that software.I just get the price list from the wholesale company and then compare to prices with amazon

When analyzing wholesale for FBA all you need is your price list, the Amazon listing (for sales rank) and the FBA calculator to determine fees and potential ROI.

      Thanks James!

Are you educated in scraping Amazon? If so I have a couple questions with regards to pulling more of the listing page when dealing with products that have size and color variations and obtaining those particular ASIN #s. Please let me know if you can help me out. Thanks in advance.

I've used WebHarvy, but it is not capable of doing what I am asking for.
