So we have been working with a consultancy for over 1yr. As part of another project they have designed a large enterprise architecture that sits over Magento and increases efficiency by 950% - meaning one person or a small team can run huge ecommerce stores. The architecture reference companies were Net-A-Porter (commerce) & ShopStyle (affiliate).

The architects are from another company who are SAP consultants - they took the largest corporate business process automation software and scaled is down to startups. An example is the ability to have a Net-A-Porter or ShopStyle store running in weeks with 95% automation and 100s thousands products. A venture capital company is willing to sponsor the startup and it breaks down as follows.

Management - experience in the complete supply chain, financials and growth
Technology - large enterprise derived technology to increase efficiency by 950%
Business - running the company day to day, social media, press releases

The Technology side is completely covered, it then comes down to how much Management and Business is required from the Venture Capital/Implementation Consultants/Architects to move the company towards growth. They target 20-50% YoY growth, however given the technology in use actively look towards triple digit.

This is specifically designed for startups who are looking to bypass the standard approach and launch national and/or international stores to rapidly compete at the highest levels of commerce similar to fab.com.

For reference, @DanGrossman, this is not a self-promtion as we gain nothing from it - How can I find downloadable products suppliers? - users not providers - everyone thinks they are guardians!!!
