There is a great auto-responder email service- www.getresponse.com that allows you to check the likelihood of your email going to someones spam folder prior to sending your email. It's a pretty cool thing and virtually guarantees that your email will not go to spam. It also gives you tips on how to avoid this obstacle if your email does in fact display some of the characteristics of a spammy email. This service offers a 30 day free trial. It's great if you are an email marketer.

As I know, there are also some trigger words that makes your email goes to spam. Such as Free, Bonus, special for customers (Sometimes goes to 'promotion' tab on my Gmail ), etc..

Yup. Been loving that 'Spam Score' feature by Getresponse.com. It analyzes if your email will go to the spam folder prior to you sending it.

What countries are you emailing to? I find that I have more success adjusting email formats for different regions of the world.

  • I use Aweber and it has a "spam checker" that tells you if it's likely to end up in Spam.

If there are any red flags, I make the change before sending. And normally, I only send if it has the perfect score!

There are many possible reasons why email would go to spam

1.) They never opted into your offer to begin with.
2.) Your message has a high amount of people flagging it.
3.) You aren't using a reputable autoresponder company.

There are many factors when it comes to why it's that way.

I usually never mark anything as spam unless I never asked for the email or their is no unsubscribe.

I try not to be too much of a bother by flagging people a simple unsubscribe will do.

Now if they continue emailing you after you unsubscribed than you can take further action.
