local brick mortar business wants to email

hi
I have local brick business, barber shop

I ask for email at init visit,
my goal to email the monthly newsletter, once a month.
so clients remember me come back to me

have nothing for online selling
I have a website, just for information, operation hours, phone number, google local, about us...

how do i use auto response to email the newsletter, (once a month)?
1. how do I make the emails to become opt-in email, compliance with Aweber, getresponse policy?

2. is there a better way to email (without going into spam) only once a month?
without the complication of opt-in process, the client gives us the email to begin with.

A hosted autoresponder service (like Aweber, GetResponse, or whatever) can't let you provide/input the email addresses of your subscribers, yourself, on the grounds that "those people voluntarily gave you their email addresses" because that facility would be too open to abuse: if they allowed customers to do that, people would abuse the facility for sending spam, incurring spam-reports and decreased deliverability to ISP/s'ESP's for all the service's other clients.

For this reason, I think a simple self-hosted autoresponder would be more suitable for you. They're not expensive, and they're a one-time cost, but you'd also still need a host/ESP/ISP which allows email of that kind to be sent out. (You're not talking about a list of tens of thousands, though, so that shouldn't be too great a problem.) With a self-hosted autoresponder, you can "add the addresses" yourself. (But the "spam complaints" - if any - will come back to haunt you, rather than going back to Aweber/GetResponse. However it sounds like this shouldn't be much of a problem to you either, as they sound perfectly legitimate and permission-based, and doubtless you'll take care that whatever you send out is totally legally compliant, has an unsubscribe-link in every email, and so on).

A service that allows you to "add your own subscribers' email addresses" can't really have a good delivery-rate to people's inboxes.

You may not actually need an autoresponder, unless you plan to have each person receive the same messages in the same sequence.

Simple mailing list software, probably available within your site's cPanel account, should do the trick. Just make sure you set it up as an "announcement list", meaning that you as list owner are the only one allowed to send email to the list.

You still have to comply with the rules, i.e., including an unsubscribe link or instructions, including your business address, etc.

Beyond the monthly newsletter, you can also use email to help sculpt the traffic flow for your shop. For example, one of our local shops periodically sends out discount offers on various services if you come in during certain hours or days. Helps her keep the chairs filled on otherwise slow days. If you sell products at your shop, you can also include special offers on specific items if you find yourself overstocked or stuck with a slow mover.

my host site gives me hordes mail or squirrel mail , it slows and clumsy and very limited storage spaces.

you are correct , i have less than 1000 emails

most emails have ending like gmail.com, yahoo.com

and I think gmail looks at the content, pattern and sender email and just place the email in the spam container, even though, i only do a trial fifty email addresses.

so the open rate is very low,
i wonder does it worth my effort to go thru the pain of squirrel mail program and get into spam container.?

look for something better, I am no internet marketing wizard, just a new beginner.

I guess I should have been more specific.

Hordes and SquirrelMail are not email list managers. They are web-based email clients, and they are clumsy.

In cPanel, look for a link/folder called "Mailing Lists" and a program called Mailman.

      These links should help:

      http://documentation.cpanel.net/disp.../Mailing+Lists

      Mailman Documentation

      Sorry about that, Chief...
