Double Opt-In requirement, CASL and newbie problems! HELP.

Been learning a lot about internet marketing and email marketing recently. I have put together some auto-responder series for various campaigns of services within my fitness center and have been having some trouble getting around this CASL law (Canadian Anti-Spam Law).

First, I left constant contact because they did not have IMMEDIATE autoresponder send outs, which I found frustrating in giving clients fast service.

I looked long and hard for an alternative. It came down to Aweber and Getresponse.

I loved GetResponse's interface and autoresponder options. What I didn't know was its API Double Opt-In requirement.

From a standpoint of developing lists and email marketing, it seems silly to have to get them to confirm again within their email when I may have not developed that strong relationship with them yet.

I had sent Compliance a request to null the double opt-in but they declined it. I have a feeling because I don't have a checkbox that says they will be getting emails.

I have linked some of my landing pages which I integrated Get-Response with.

Anyone experiencing this law as an obstacle to their email marketing efforts?

The forced DOI is something specific to Aweber/Getresponse. There's other services that should allow you to upload your own contacts, which would solve your problem all together. Check into iContact!

I guess that is a possibility but it kind of nulls the whole " automation" element to "autroresponders"
