How quickly can you build a list?

Hey Warriors,

I was wondering how quickly it is possible to build a huge list? What are your experiences? Have you ever managed to build a really big list within a month? Two months? I was wondering because so many people and especially products claim that this is possible.

Thanks for any input.

    It is pretty easy to build a list, especially if you buy one.
    Building a quality list is the trick.
    Every goldbricker on the list is a wasted slot on your auto-responder.
    Landing pages + targeted traffic = quality lists

    It doesn't matter too much, Sven, because in general the fastest ways of building lists are likely to be, financially, the least rewarding, least secure and least profitable ways. And of course there are reasons for all of those things.

    Although having a large opt in e-mail list is nice. Your focus should be on always building a QUALITY list. Just because you have 100k subscribers don't mean you'll earn a living from it. Focus on developing a solid relationship with your prospects and providing quality solutions. If you have can do that you will have much success online.

    Most people who are just getting into list building HATE to hear this...but a responsive and profitable list takes time. Saying that building a list like this quickly should be synonymous with "get rich quick"!

    The secret is to bring in new and fresh leads every day and never stop. Even if you get 10-30 leads per day, it is worth it.

    If you can afford to invest $50-$200 per day on pay per click ads, those numbers can go to 50-100 leads per day.

    a lot of the answer is dependent on how much time, and money you are willing to invest into your list building. Sure you could build a huge list in that amount of time with $20,000 to invest in paid traffic. Always take these products claims as extreme exaggeration. But it doesn't mean that they are worthless. A lot of these products out there have some really good tips and strategies. There is always more to learn out there. And that it what my mindset it when i look at purchasing some of these products. Never expect to be making 10K per month in the next 2 weeks. Just expect that you can possibly learn something that may be worth while in the LONG run.

      It seriously depends on the traffic source and your message. If it's paid traffic (and you have money to boot it up), and you have optimized your funnel, you can build a quality list pretty fast.

      If you're going for free method, it's gonna take a while, my friend.

      Best way?

      Create your own product, and build a buyers list. With a buyers list, even 250 people in your list will make you a lot of money!

    It depends 100% on your final purpose
    For ex: if you want to engage in MMO niche, and build a list to buy/sell solo ads, you can earn as many subscribers as you can via buying solo.
    But if you just want to use email marketing as a channel to stay in touch with your customer, you will earn email via signup form (on your websites) or paypal email (from customers who purchase your product). According to this, the velocity of list building will depend on the traffic and conversion rate of your website - no shorcut here.

    I agree with what a lot of others have already said.

    When I started in IM I thought the size of your list was very important. But it isn't. I built a list of 25K in a year. Using a variety of free and paid for techniques. Click banking, solo ads, FB advertising, Free give aways, article writing, Direct mail etc.

    Its a nice sized list but most importantly they are engaged and respond to my emails. It really is a case of quality over quantity. Which unfortunately does take time and money. I know other IMs who have a list of 2k and make really good money because their audience loves what they do and buy everything they produce. Because they provide great value.

    The short answer is yes you can build a very large very responsive targeted list quickly, but it will cost.
